Chevron packing seals, or chevron packs, are a standard rubber or engineering plastic product that comprises of rings of multiple lip seals that have been stacked vertically between reinforced header and base rings. They are given the name chevron seals, or chevron v packing, because the cross section of the chevron packing seals reveals a row of “vee” shapes – or “chevron” pattern.
A robust compact double acting seal assembly designed specifically for one piece pistons. It uses a nitrile sealing element which has proven itself in service to be extremely wear resistant and capable of working most effectively in a wide variety of medium duty applications. The seal is also suitable for two piece piston applications.
Back-up rings are the most common anti-extrusion devices in dynamic sealing. They provide simple solutions to safely increase system function by positioning a more robust material adjacent to the extrusion gap, taking the seal's place and providing a barrier against high pressures. Back UPS can be used to offset the reduced pressure rating effects of wear rings or to improve seal against pressure spikes, or to ensure seal performance at higher temperatures.
Guide Rings or Wear rings are used to guide the rods and piston thus avoiding damage.
Wear rings are used to help keep the piston centered, which allows for even wear and pressure distribution on the seals. These seals are used in both piston and rod applications. Popular materials include glass filled Nylon, bronze filled PTFE and glass filled PTFE. Wear rings are available in butt cut, angle cut and step cut styles.
Wiper seals are use in glands to avoid ingression of an dust particles inside the hydraulic cylinder, its wipes out the dust / dirt accumulate on the rod thus avoiding the contamination of hydraulic oil
Hydraulic Rod seals are static seals installed in the glands or housings and are used to seal the reciprocating rods of an hydraulic cylinders.
V-rings seal axially against a counter-face. This type of seal has proved to be reliable and effective against dust, dirt, water and oil splash and other media. V-ring shaft seals provide effective protection against dry and wet contamination. The V-ring also reduces wear and extends the service life of the oil seal and bearings. The V-ring also performs well in dry running applications. Because it is all rubber and very elastic, it can be stretched over flanges or other components for easy installation with very little dis-assembly.
